Here we go again

Leeds Festival - Tent cityImage by Drunken Monkey via Flickr

It's getting to that time again. When we must ready ourselves to pack up scant belongings and cross the border, leaving the trappings of the everyday behind. Ah, Leeds Festival, your time is here again.
Being off work watching some amazing bands is great but it's the liberation from the everyday that really gives the hit. Escaping to this mad playground where it's all about the hedonism and smiling at strangers.
I find small amounts of pleasure in the disregard of every tent's warning about pitching no closer than *this* far from other campers; the fact that in the real world health and safety would have none of that. This isn't the real world though. This is the People's Republic of LeedsFest. We are allied with PRoRF (People's Republic of ReadingFest) and we reject the grown up sensibilities we must adhere to beyond the gates.
This is our playground. Where we come to kick loose and stick it to The Man. Yeah, deep down we know this is The Man's festival and while we're free from work and material possessions we are bound by other rules.
This won't stop me being as happy as a welly in mud for the whole time I am in this Other Place. Relaxed and recharging with giggles galore. Music, and chilling and no responsibility at all...
